EDUCATION MANAGER

The Education Manager plans and implements education strategies for the students within the salons. The position ensures compliance requirements are met while adhering to Hair Bar NYC’s missions, value’s and teaching methods. The Education Manager must coach and mentor students while promoting a positive learning environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Uphold and enforce the Hair Bar NYC’s mission’s, value’s and teaching methods
  • Assist each student, according to that student’s learning process, with understanding and successful application of technical and theoretical information
  • Coach and mentor students on attendance, personal development, professional development, program retention, business goals and other personal and/or educational challenges
  • Maintain and ensure guest servicing is consistent with educational standards
  • Provide and promote a positive learning environment for the student body
  • Remain current with established standards for student performance and responsible for explaining, upholding and enforcing all student conduct and behavior
  • Maintain student records
  • Regularly improve teaching skills through continued growth
  • Create monthly student reports

CANDIDATE TRAITS & SKILLS NEEDED:

  • High School Diploma
  • Active Cosmetology license required
  • Salon industry experience
  • Previous teaching experience at a Cosmetology School a plus, but not required
  • Previous experience with Wella products
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Excellent customer service and presentation skills
  • Leadership and role model capabilities
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain composure and thrive in a fast-paced, high-stress environment

SALON MANAGER / RECEPTIONIST

The Salon Manager has many important duties such as overseeing operations, ensuring that customers are satisfied, managing employees schedules and performance, as well as working to make sure the salon is profitable. There is a great deal of responsibility involved in the position of salon manager. Salon Managers lead the team and perform administrative tasks while coaching employees to help develop their skills. They also oversee salon conditions in terms of appearance, cleanliness and safety, as well as making sure all supply inventories are stocked. Answering phones, emails, and customer inquiries are also an important part of the job.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for analyzing business performance
  • Responsible for leading your team
  • Order general salon supplies and products and keep an inventory
  • Manages salon staffing levels to ensure employee development and maintain salon operational requirements
  • Developing and coaching employees to provide amazing client experience
  • File all necessary papers in their correct places
  • Answers phones, review phone messages, direct phone calls to the proper department, and answer emails
  • Respond to reviews and customer service inquires
  • Manages with integrity and honesty and promotes the culture, values, and mission of Hair Bar NYC
  • Perform administrative tasks such as completing schedules and transactions on the computerized register, performing close-out procedures and light housekeeping duties

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Attracts potential customers by answering product and service questions; suggesting information about other products and services.
  • Listen and respond to customers’ needs and concerns
  • Provide information about products and services
  • Take orders, determine charges, and oversee billing or payments
  • Review or make changes to customer accounts
  • Handle returns or complaints
  • Record details of customer contacts and actions taken
  • Research answers or solutions as needed
  • Refer customers to supervisors, managers, or others who can help
